Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup dutch-processed cocoa powder
3/4 cups butter
2 Tbsp. oil
1 + 1/3 cups white sugar, divided
2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
3/4 cups chocolate chips
2/3 cups valentines m&ms, for topping
cherry ice cream, for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Set that aside.
2. To a large bowl, add in 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/2 cup dutch-processed cocoa powder. Give that a quick whisk, then set aside.
3. To a small saucepan, add in 3/4 cups butter, 2 Tbsp. oil, and 1/3 cup of white sugar. Heat that over medium-high heat and mix that until the butter melts. Remove that from heat!
4. To a large bowl, mix 2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk, and the remaining 1 cup of sugar. Whisk that until combined, while slowly adding in the warm butter mixture. Make sure everything is fully combined, then add in your dry ingredients from earlier. Lastly, fold in 3/4 cups of chocolate chips.
5. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan, and sprinkle on 2/3 cups valentines m&ms. Bake for about 30-35 minutes. Let that cool for about 15 minutes.
6. Once cooled, slice the brownies and top with a scoop of cherry ice cream.
7. Enjoy!
