1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup dutch-processed cocoa powder
3/4 cups butter
2 Tbsp. oil
1 + 1/3 cups white sugar, divided
2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
3/4 cups chocolate chips
2/3 cups valentines m&ms, for topping
cherry ice cream, for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Set that aside.
2. To a large bowl, add in 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/2 cup dutch-processed cocoa powder. Give that a quick whisk, then set aside.
3. To a small saucepan, add in 3/4 cups butter, 2 Tbsp. oil, and 1/3 cup of white sugar. Heat that over medium-high heat and mix that until the butter melts. Remove that from heat!
4. To a large bowl, mix 2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk, and the remaining 1 cup of sugar. Whisk that until combined, while slowly adding in the warm butter mixture. Make sure everything is fully combined, then add in 3/4 cups of chocolate chips.
5. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan, and sprinkle on 2/3 cups valentines m&ms. Bake for about 30-35 minutes. Let that cool for about 15 minutes.
6. Once cooled, slice the brownies and top with a scoop of cherry ice cream.
7. Enjoy!
