The Best Hummus Ever

Hummus is a perfect healthy and quick snack, that’s great with dipping with vegetables, pita, or pita chips! It’s creamy, smooth, light, and oh so flavorful!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is our first recipe of 2022! We thought that hummus would be the perfect way to start it off, on a healthier note, without cutting back on the flavor.

Hummus is incredibly easy to make! Just blend together all the ingredients, and that’s it! Snack goals!

What to Serve it With:

There is SO much you can do with hummus! You can dip it with veggies, pita chips (one of our favorites), crackers, pita, and naan. You can also use it as a spread for sandwiches, or a wrap. It can be used as a salad dressing, or even a sauce! That’s why we like to have it in our fridge all the time!

Ingredients:

Chickpeas: Both canned and cooked dry chickpeas will work. We noticed that they don’t make a big difference using one over the other, so use either one!

Aquafaba: The water from the chickpeas. This recipe calls to drain the chickpeas, but save 2/3 cup to add to the hummus.

Tahini: Tahini is a must have ingredient in hummus! All it is, is blended sesame seeds. It gives the hummus a nutty flavor.

Garlic: Garlic honestly should be in everything savory! It’s just so good!

Lemon Juice: We like using frozen lemon juice because we noticed it gave the hummus a smoother texture. Lime juice also works.

Cumin: Cumin adds an earthy flavor with a tone of citrus taste.

Salt: ALWAYS salt!

Olive oil: The olive oil makes the hummus even creamier, and it only uses 2 Tbsp. for the whole batch!
