Healthier One-Bowl Banana Bread!

Soft, moist, and delicious, made with whole wheat flour, and naturally sweetened with maple syrup and bananas! This Healthier One-Bowl Banana Bread has been on repeat in our kitchen and we know you’ll be doing the same after trying it!

If you have over-ripe bananas sitting on your counter, they are just asking to be turned into this banana bread.

This recipe is super versatile. We decided to keep ours simple, by not adding any add-ins, but feel free to make it your own! Some of our favorites are chocolate chips and walnuts.

And you guys just look at this texture! 😍 It’s dense, yet fluffy, moist, and has the perfect crumb!

Ingredient Overview:

Bananas: The riper your bananas are, the sweeter they will be, and those are the best kind for baking!

Oil: We used vegetable oil, but it will also work with melted coconut oil!

Maple Syrup: Maple syrup is for sweetness, but you can also use honey!

Milk: Pretty much any type of milk will work fine!

Eggs: Eggs create a soft, and fluffy banana bread, and helps bind the batter together.

Vanilla Extract: Vanilla extract adds a nice flavor.

Whole wheat flour: We like using whole wheat flour, but if you only have all-purpose flour on hand, you can use that!

Baking Soda: Baking soda is what makes the loaf rise.

Salt: Balances the sweetness, and brings out the flavors in the banana bread.

Ground Cinnamon: Cinnamon adds a nice flavor to the bread, without it being overpowering.

Description

A Healthier One-bowl Banana Bread recipe that tastes incredible?! Count us in! Soft, moist, made with whole wheat flour and naturally sweetened with maple syrup and bananas! We have been making this recipe on repeat in our kitchen and we know you’ll be doing the same!

Ingredients

Units Scale

3 large overripe bananas

1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)

1/2 cup maple syrup, or honey

1/4 cup any kind of milk

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour (or all-purpose)

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mash together 3 large overripe bananas. Add in 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup milk, 2 large eggs, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract. Whisk that until combined.

2. To that, add in 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon. Fold that in with a spatula, and mix just until combined. Don’t overmix, or your banana bread will turn out dense.

3. Transfer batter to a lined baking pan, and bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool for about 30 minutes. Now you’re ready to slice and enjoy!
