Authentic Indian Garlic Naan

Have you ever heard of naan before? It’s this amazingly soft, fluffy, and chewy Indian flatbread! And brushing it with garlic butter, and topping it with chopped cilantro makes it even better!

Traditionally, naan is made in a tandoor oven. But we don’t have one, and we are pretty sure most of you guys don’t either. So cooking it on the pan is a great way to do it! It’s also really quick! Another thing is, that some recipes make naan without yeast, but using yeast makes the naan extra fluffy and soft! So, we definitely recommend it!

What to serve it with:

It’s great on it’s own, but some things to serve it with is our recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala, or any other curry! It’s just the best meal ever!

To make this you'll need:

Warm Water: Have the water heated to 100 degrees or 37 degrees Celcius.

White Sugar: Adding just a bit of sugar makes a big difference! Honey will also work.

Active Dry Yeast: Be sure to use active dry yeast and not instant yeast.

Flour: All-purpose or bread flour works best for this recipe!

Salt: Salt makes a recipe go from good, to amazing!

Whole Milk Yogurt: We used greek yogurt.

Ghee: If you don’t know what ghee is, it’s basically just clarified butter. So if you don’t have ghee, softened butter will work.

We love Indian cuisine because it’s so beautiful with all the bright colors, and it is so flavorful with all the spices that go into a dish!
